The Silverton 42 Convertible is one of Silverton's most popular models. A good-selling boat introduced in 2000, the Silverton 42 Convertible is a contemporary flybridge sedan whose spacious interior and large cockpit made her a good choice for family cruisers and anglers alike. A distinctive design with a rakish hardtop and aggressive styling, she’s built on the same proven hull used in the production of the earlier Silverton 41 Convertible. The command helm provides good visibility and the controls are at the captain's fingertips. The two-stateroom, split head/shower interior of the Silverton 42 is a tasteful blend of cherry woodwork and earth-tone fabrics. Additional features include very wide side decks and a bow pulpit. A capable performer with twin 450hp Cummins Diamond Series diesels, the Silverton 42 Convertible will cruise at 20 knots (mid 20s top).
Board via the swim platform and through a transom door to the cockpit, which has an engine room access door, a built-in tackle center, and storage on both sides. Access the flying bridge via molded port-side stairs. The enclosed centerline helm is aft (great visibility when docking stern-to) and bench seating for 5-6 is forward with generous storage under-seat and in the “eyebrow” underneath the forward “windows.”
Enter the saloon from the cockpit through a wide sliding glass door. The entertainment center including 32” flat screen TV is immediately to port facing forward, and the dinette is further to port facing aft. Two Lay-Z-Boy electric-adjustable recliners are to starboard. The saloon also features large engine room hatches for easier access for outboard-side service.
Walk three steps down to the starboard-side galley, with a Corian counter, sink, two fridges, electric cooktop, combination microwave/convection oven, “Spacesaver” coffeemaker, and lots of under-counter and overhead storage.
The two staterooms, head, and shower are further forward. The master stateroom is in the bow and features a raised double-sized centerline island berth, with huge storage in drawers underneath, and with a hanging locker to starboard and another storage locker to port. The master stateroom offers private access to the head/vanity (starboard side) to the shower (port side). The guest stateroom is to port, also with private access to the shower.
